Senator Cory Booker Pledges to Give Back Money

Feb 4, 2019 | Politics

Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) – along with a few other politicians who are presidential hopefuls – is pledging to give back the money he received from pharmaceutical companies and will no longer accept campaign contributions from corporate PACs. Of course, last year he, along with 12 other Democrats, defeated a bill that would have helped control the high cost of medications. The arguments that Cory used to justify his opposition to the bill were identical with Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association.

We need campaign reform or the people of this country may never be able to participate in our government – nor be represented fairly. We need public financing of campaigns, campaign spending limits, and additional political parties. We need to regulate PAC funds and renounce the Citizens United vs. FEC decision.
